GMJ’s Judge Carl Griffith and Lori Ryerkerk recently welcomed Bayoulands guest contributor Jordan Williams to White Haven, the historic Port Arthur home that now serves as the offices of Griffith Moseley Johnson & Associates, Inc.
During the episode, Carl and Lori provide an inside look at the restoration of the Morris-Booz House and share the story behind preserving the historic property while giving it a new purpose.
Located on Lakeshore Drive overlooking the Port Arthur Canal, White Haven was built in 1915 for Dr. H.D. Morris, an early Port Arthur physician and British Consul. The home dates to an important period in the city’s development following the Spindletop oil boom, when Lakeshore Drive emerged as one of Port Arthur’s most prominent residential corridors.
Today, the restored White Haven begins its next chapter as GMJ’s home, bringing together the property’s history and the firm’s continued investment in the Port Arthur community.
