John Johnson, (1961-2025)

John was a visionary leader, colleague, and friend—the "J" in GMJ—and his impact will always be part of our story.

John’s wisdom, dedication, and commitment to excellence were hallmarks of his leadership. He inspired those who had the privilege of working alongside him and set a standard for integrity and professionalism that continues to guide us today.

His legacy remains a cornerstone of Griffith, Moseley, Johnson, Inc., and a source of enduring inspiration for all of us.

An attorney and partner in the firm, John had a 25-year career in law enforcement and public administration. Prior to starting GMJ, he spent 10 years in county government, where his portfolio included environmental, transportation, homeland security, criminal justice, grants, and economic development matters. He negotiated the terms of incentive agreements on more than $20 billion in industrial expansion projects in Southeast Texas. John served on the board of directors of the Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce, where he chaired the legislative committee. He also served on the board of directors of the Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeast Texas.
